What are the Expressive Arts?

The  Expressive Arts are a reflection of many artistic modalities.

The arts are layered in an integrated inter-modal way. 

Music  is one component that is often included. 

Sacred Movement, Embodied Prayer and Somatic Inquiry all involve the use of the body to reconnect with self, express words/feelings through movement and  can often lead to inner healing.

 We are all creative! Art making, photography, collage are all mediums of expression that within the expressive arts are not skill related. Process is emphasized over Product. 

Words like Aesthetic and Evocative response are frequently used within the expressive arts. 

What is coming up for you? What is being evoked? What is your response to the image/poetry/words or sacred text?
